Evaluation - Question 3 and 4

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

 


For the distribution of my magazine I have chosen BAUER Media for my media institution. I have chosen BAUER because they are a large well know media institution with many successful brands like Q and FHM.

BAUER is a company that distributes magazines that are mainly aimed at men so my magazine links in with their audience. Although BAUER distributes a lot of radio stations this will not be a problem for my magazine as my target audience is the younger generation that like the dupstep genre of music which none of these stations play.

My magazine will have a mixture of aspects to link with a male target audience which almost all of the magazines that BAUER distribute do not include. Because of this it means that my magazine is unique to BAUER and will hopefully be successful under their distribution.
 
 

The target audience for my magazine is younger males aged between 18 and 25. I have chosen this age group because they are the people that are interested in dubstep, girls and cars. My magazine is aimed at the men that like to go to nightclubs on the weekends and dream of driving around in expensive cars to impress the females.

Evaluation - Question 2

 How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Due to my magazine being aimed at teenagers i have added many things that will relate to them.The sponsors in this magazine are companies that sell alcohol and musical products which links to the teenagers that go clubbing on the weekend to listen to their music whilst drinking alcohol.

My magazine is aimed at the younger males so i have used sponsors that deal with male clothing brands and food because the stereotypes show that these things are what the younger males are interesting in.
 
 
 
 
The use of the fan in this image represents a comedic role in my magazine for the younger generation to show that they have fun in their lives. This shows us that the younger generation become interested in things that are not used for entertainment representing a slightly immature social group.

Location, Props and Costume

Location - For my images I used the photo studio at the college to get a professional look for my magazine.

Props - I only used 2 props in my shoot as I did not want them to stand out more than the main artist. the props I used were a pair of headphones to link in with the musical factor of the magazine and an electric fan to create some comedy in my magazine so it is interesting to read.

Costume - I didn't use a costume for my magazine shoot I just got the artist to wear his natural clothes like he would at one of his gigs that he DJs at.
